Sometimes Two-Factor Authentication Breaks Things (But You Should Still Use It) If you’ve tried to log in to Spotify with Facebook recently you may have encountered something unexpected and frustrating. This kinda vague error is confusing and doesn’t give you a lot of faith. Fortunately, this is easily resolved. The cause is Spotify not understanding Two-factor Authentication (2FA). The fix takes two minutes: Go to settings: Edit App passwords: You want to generate a new App-specific password for Spotify to use: So generate a new one: Give it a name, and boom: Now, go back to Spotify and put in your facebook username (eg. firstname.lastname@example.org, whatever your short URL is) as the login, and the generated password as the password. You’re done! You can go back to listening to Two Steps From Hell. For more streaming tips, analysis, and memes that aren’t really funny, follow @chhopsky on twitter.
